Abstract

The following study discusses immigration from the trajectory of the fictional character Adah, the protagonist of Buchi Emecheta's Second Class Citizen. Therefore, there is a discussion about concepts such as Diaspora, Cultural Identity and Colonialism, based on theorists who, in the majority, went through migratory and colonial processes, such as Hall and Fanon. Thus, it's understood that Emecheta uses the narrative of this book to highlight the inequalities faced by Nigerian immigrants in the British metropolis and denounce the way of life to which they were subjected.
