A TRANSGRESSÃO MORALIZADA DA RAINHA DO LAR

Abstract

The writing of this article was inspired by the history and life of Amélia Augusta Rodrigues do Sacramento, a woman from the interior of Bahia, who distinguished herself in her time by doing more than was permitted for most women. She not only learned to read and write, but also had access to a wide range of reading materials that promoted her education beyond the home. This material seeks to challenge and shake structures, questioning what a woman's body, confined to the domestic sphere of household chores, can achieve. It references authors like Silva (1997) and Alves (1998) in recounting Amélia's story, engaging in discussions with Deleuze, Foucault, and Guacira Louro. Additionally, it connects with the writings of Machado and De Souza Nascimento. Amélia epitomized movements from duty to becoming; her life and the education she advocated for prompted subversions. It is a writing that reveals paradoxes.
