THE CHALLENGES OF COMBATING CHILD LABOR IN BRAZIL

This essay addresses some of the challenges in combating child labor in Brazil. The overall objective is to highlight how child labor can be detrimental to children and adolescents, limiting their possibilities for professional growth. The methodology employed is qualitative and bibliographic, drawing on studies by Muniz (2008), Oliveira and Pires (1995), and Souza e Alkimim (2017), among others. This essay is justified by the need to expose how child labor violates the rights of children and adolescents, according to the Child and Adolescent Statute and the 1988 Federal Constitution. As results, it was possible to observe various social and economic factors intensifying this debate, with the state being responsible for ensuring the rights of these individuals are guaranteed.
