Abstract

Abstract: Decolonial theories, which emerged in recent decades, seek to study literature with a non-hegemonic bias, therefore (re)constructing spaces for the study of literatures considered marginalized in literary historiography. Together with some strands of feminism, which emphasize specific issues in the experiences of women, including black women, as called black or decolonial feminism, up to Afro-feminist criticism, rooted in Brazil from 1970 onwards, the viability of women is observed. Afro-descendant writers, whose discourses were marginalized by canonical processes arising from the colonial slavery heritage. Therefore, our study focuses on the figure of Geni Guimarães, a contemporary Afro-Brazilian writer and her short story “Força Flutuante”, present in the book “Leite do Peito” (2001). Thus, the objective, based on literary theories of decolonial strands, is to analyze the short story as a narrative of denunciation, reflecting how black women's racism, prejudice and subordination are inserted, in addition to the sensitive look of Geni Guimarães. In this way, through the theoretical frameworks of Ribeiro (2019), Gonzalles (2020), Hollanda (2020) among others, we will denounce, using as a social tool, black female literature.
