Violence against women is one of the main forms of violation of rights, harming their integrity. It can manifest as physical, moral, sexual, patrimonial, psychological violence, among others. Despite public policies to combat women's violence, there are still social practices of domination that violate these rights. Femicide is a social phenomenon, which reaches significant proportions of the female population. It consists of the apex of the abusive context to which women are subjected, resulting in the death of the victim. It is intended, with this research, to investigate what kind of social change underlies the discourse of the law to combat violence against women, from the analysis of the dialectical relationship between the discourse of Law 7,000, of June 2022 that establishes May 30 as the Municipal Day to Combat Femicide and other social practices that involve the context of its formulation. The Critical Discourse Analysis will be based on the studies of Norman Fairclough. The results indicate that violence against women persists, there is a generalization of the law and perpetuates a patriarchal ideology characteristic of the neoliberal capitalist state.
