In the literary history of Latin America, literature was configured as a space to strengthen identities and to denounce the different explorations-colonizations, which have occurred since the arrival of Europeans on the continent. In contemporary times, Latin American intellectual production has been engaged in the discussion on the dilution of the boundaries of canonical literary and cultural genres, enabling a phenomenon of hybridizations and reinterpretations through connections with other discourses, such as history, philosophy, psychology, critical essay, among others. As a result, we found a literature that reflects on the most varied possibilities of writing and aesthetic resources, translated into several narrative and poetic genres, in themes and in authorship. In this dossier, we want to bring together works by researchers from Brazil and abroad around contemporary literature, in order to understand what are the trends that today mark literary art in Latin American territory.
